Appleby Cayman Expands Corporate Team with Appointment of Martin Byers as Partner & Head of Regulatory

Appleby is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Byers as Partner and Head of Regulatory in the firm’s Corporate practice.


Martin brings extensive experience in regulatory and compliance matters, advising on complex issues such as licensing, reporting and information exchange, economic substance, and beneficial ownership. He has significant experience with CIMA processes and regulatory expectations. His work also spans AML/CFT, sanctions, data protection, regulatory inspections, and enforcement actions.

Martin joins the firm in a leadership role, heading the Regulatory practice and working closely with partners and associates to drive its continued growth, strategic direction, and capability to advise on increasingly complex and sophisticated matters.
