Leona is a senior associate* in Appleby’s Corporate department in Guernsey.
Leona was admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in 2014, having trained and qualified at one of South Africa’s leading commercial law firms Webber Wentzel (in alliance with Linklaters), where she subsequently spent five years in the Banking and Finance team (which included a short legal secondment to Absa Bank Limited), followed by two years at another offshore firm in Jersey.
Prior to joining Appleby in September 2021, Leona’s experience was predominantly in areas of general banking and debt finance, syndicated lending, commercial property finance, acquisition and leveraged finance and related security structures acting on behalf of both borrowers and lenders.
