Bio
Olwyn Barry is a Partner in the Dispute Resolution department working in both the British Virgin Islands and the Jersey offices.
Prior to joining Appleby in 2015, she worked as an associate in A&L Goodbody, Dublin in the Commercial Litigation department specialising in contentious insolvency matters and advising on a broad range of commercial disputes, banking litigation and debt enforcement.
Olwyn graduated from the University College Dublin with a Bachelor of Civil Law (International) degree having spent a year studying in the University of Melbourne, Australia. She completed the professional Practice Course in the Law Society of Ireland while completing her apprenticeship in A&L Goodbody and was admitted to the roll of solicitors in Ireland in 2011. She was also admitted to the roll of solicitors in England and Wales and admitted as a solicitor of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court in 2015 upon joining Appleby´s BVI office.
Since joining Appleby, Olwyn has gained broad experience of major, mulit-jurisdictional commercial disputes. Olwyn was recognised by the Legal 500 with clients describing her as “unflappable and deals with everything that is thrown at her”.
Olwyn is currently based in Appleby´s Jersey office where she continues to focus on BVI disputes, supporting clients in the GMT time zone.
