Bio
Maree Martin is Counsel within the Corporate Department of the firm’s Cayman Islands office. She works with both the Investment Funds Team, advising fund service providers on the formation, governance, structuring and termination of all types of Cayman Islands investment funds, and with the Knowledge Management Team comprised of professional support lawyers across the group. The Knowledge Management Team supports the partners and associates in providing the highest quality legal services to Appleby’s clients.
Prior to joining Appleby, Maree worked in the Corporate Department of a leading offshore firm for 18 years, initially specializing in investment funds and gaining experience in a wide range of general corporate and regulatory matters before transitioning to a role of Head of Knowledge Management for the Cayman Islands office. Maree has also worked as a taxation specialist for Sidley Austin Brown & Wood, Watson, Farley & Williams, Ernst & Young and the Queensland Office of State Revenue.
