The Insurance event was filled to capacity with 36 attendees from 20 BILTIR member companies. Bermuda Managing Partner Brad Adderley educated the group on the differences between P&C and Life sidecars. A Bermuda life reinsurance sidecar is a Class E licensed, fully regulated entity, which is backed by third party investors to reinsure business from the sponsoring life insurance company.
BILTIR has established a calendar of monthly Roundtable events to promote learning and professional development for members. This initiative, spearheaded by Ahwaz Chagani, Chief Actuary of Oceanview Re, involves collaboration with BILTIR’S Associate members to foster active discussions on timely and relevant topics. The Roundtables also bring the life sector community together to enhance connectivity among the life marketplace.
Bermuda International Long Term Insurers and Reinsurers (BILTIR) was created to serve as a formal association representing the long-term insurers and reinsurers in Bermuda. The primary focus of BILTIR is to act as an advocate for Bermuda’s life and annuity industry for public policy that supports the industry marketplace, including regulatory requirements, other Bermuda Monetary Authority or Bermuda government issues, and tax matters with various jurisdictions.
