Another Appleby lawyer recognised in the rankings is Jersey Partner Fraser Robertson. He is a “well-known longstanding litigator,” according to a source. He has considerable experience representing high net worth individuals and corporate trustees.

Cayman Counsel Esmond Brown was listed as “Up and Coming,” with a source commenting: “He is fabulous, everyone loves to work with him, and his work is perfection.” Another interviewee says that “he works efficiently and effectively to deliver a high-quality product to the client.”

Bermuda Senior Associate Caljonah Smith is listed as an “Associate to Watch.” Caljonah handles advisory trusts matters, including trust formation and restructuring, and estate work.

In the Guide Appleby is praised for its “Excellent service levels, they are responsive and helpful.” Sources highlight the team’s ability to deal with complex work. One source says: “The lawyers at Appleby are at the forefront of cutting-edge and sophisticated estate planning,” and another interviewee states that “they are extremely knowledgeable and thorough, and help to navigate complex situations.” Another market commentator says: “I like Appleby, all the people there are great,” and another source says: “They are not only good technically but also their services are very good.”
