Cayman partner and Global Head of Private Client and Trusts, Carlos de Serpa Pimental, Local Group Head of Private Client and Trusts in Bermuda, Vanessa Schrum and Jersey partner Fraser Robertson have all been recognised as ‘Global Elite’. Cayman Senior Associate Esmond Brown has also been noted as ‘One to Watch’.

Launched in 2017, the Private Client Global Elite serves as a highly respected global directory of the world’s top private client and trust and estates litigation talent, as well as rising stars within the industry. Each year, they receive over 6,000 nominations, which is narrowed down to just 250.

From the thousands of entries received this year only 317 lawyers have been recommended as ‘Global Elite’ and 155 as ‘Ones to Watch’.  Those individuals recognised are determined by a number of contributing factors including; recommendations received from the global legal community, their international networks including the jurisdictions in which they are qualified and in which they undertake cross-border work, and their overall experience, effectiveness and commitment to client service.

Appleby’s Private Client and Trusts team advise on all aspects of trust law, including the establishment, administration, restructuring and termination of private, charitable, and commercial trusts and foundations. They act in a personal capacity as Protector, Enforcer and Director (of Private Trust Companies) for a number of discretionary trusts and are frequently instructed by blue-chip trust institutions.
