Jane who started her legal career in Bermuda with Appleby in 2008, recently re-joined Appleby from another local law firm. She advises clients in both the public and private sectors and has extensive experience in corporate and commercial law, including banking, asset and project finance, aviation finance and registration, mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate re-structuring. Jane’s practice also includes advising on all aspects of carrying on digital asset business in Bermuda and insurance related matters.

Jane holds a Bachelor in Business Studies from Thames Valley University, and completed the Common Professional Examination and Legal Practice Course at Nottingham Law School. She is an admitted solicitor in England and Wales (non-practising), and has been a member of the Bermuda Bar Association since 2009.

Jane said, “I am delighted to be re-joining the Corporate department at Appleby. I am excited to be working with a team of internationally recognised lawyers, at a firm known for providing a world-class service to its clients.”

Hailee practises in all areas of corporate and commercial law. She worked at top tier New Zealand law firms before moving to Bermuda, focusing on property and development finance, corporate finance, acquisition finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, joint ventures, partnerships, corporate governance and constitutional matters.

Hailee holds an LLB degree from the University of Wellington, and is an admitted barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand.

Hailee said, “I am from New Zealand and I wanted to have a different experience exploring a part of the world that I have not yet had the chance to travel to. Bermuda appealed to me because of the high-quality legal work together with being a beautiful island. I knew I wanted to work at Appleby not only because of its stellar offshore reputation, but also because all of the staff I met with during the interview process were incredibly warm and professional. I have a background in tax, banking and finance and corporate law so working within the corporate team is a perfect match to my skillset. I am very excited to be part of the team.”

Brad Adderley, Bermuda Managing Partner, said, “We are delighted to welcome Jane back to her first home at Appleby, and to welcome Hailee to Bermuda and our growing legal team. Their varied and extensive expertise and knowledge will provide valuable support to our colleagues and clients alike. Welcome Jane and Hailee.”
