Leading international law firm Appleby is proud to continue its sponsorship of the Bermuda Triathlon Association’s Youth Development Squad (YDS) as the team prepares for the 2026 Americas Triathlon CARIFTA Championships, taking place in Bermuda on 24 and 25 October 2026. With the region’s premier youth triathlon event coming to our shores, excitement is building as Bermuda prepares to welcome talented young athletes from across the Caribbean while celebrating our own rising stars on the island stage.

As principal sponsor of the Youth Development Squad for the fourth year, Appleby remains committed to supporting the development of Bermuda’s young athletes and helping create opportunities for them to thrive both on and off the race course.

This year’s Youth Development Squad comprises 46 athletes (ages 11-19), including 23 females and 23 males, competing across aquathlon, triathlon and mixed team relay races representing one of Bermuda’s largest and most talented CARIFTA squads in recent years. Led by Head Coach Alec Shepherd, with support from coaches Richard Lau and Caroline Wright, the squad has trained extensively in preparation for competing on home ground at one of the Caribbean’s most prestigious youth sporting events.

The CARIFTA Championships remain the premier regional showcase for junior athletic talent in the Caribbean, bringing together the region’s best young athletes in a celebration of sport. About 170 athletes from Aruba, The Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, Grenada, Guyana, Jamaica, Martinique, Puerto Rico, St Kitts & Nevis, and Trinidad & Tobago are expected to compete.

Brad Adderley, Appleby’s Bermuda Managing Partner, said: “We are delighted to continue supporting the Bermuda Triathlon Association’s Youth Development Squad as they prepare for the 2026 Americas Triathlon CARIFTA Championships. We are incredibly proud of these young athletes and the dedication, discipline and perseverance they have shown in earning the opportunity to represent Bermuda at this level.”

“Hosting the championships in Bermuda makes this year’s event especially meaningful. It is a wonderful opportunity to welcome talented young athletes, coaches, families and supporters from across the Caribbean while showcasing the very best of our island. We congratulate every member of Team Bermuda on this achievement and extend a warm Bermudian welcome to all those visiting for what promises to be a memorable celebration of youth sport.”
