Appleby welcomed students across various departments including, Corporate, Private Client & Trusts, Dispute Resolution and Marketing. The students have had the opportunity to work alongside mentors and gain valuable experience and insight into the dynamic legal profession. Internship duration lengths have ranged from 2 to 16 weeks. The firm is proud to contribute to the development of Bermudian students at various stepping stones in their career path, whether at commencement through work shadowing, or in the developing stages through summer internships. We also have a thriving legal trainee program once students have completed their legal studies.

Tim Faries, Bermuda Managing Partner said, “Appleby is pleased to have summer interns who are interested in pursuing careers within the legal profession. As a firm, we have a long history of commitment to developing the next generation of lawyers for Bermuda and our expanding practice groups and specialisations. We are excited to watch and support these young adults as they continue with their studies and embark on their careers.”

Appleby’s Corporate practice welcomed four students: Khayl’La Ball and Ryann Hollis who are both completing a Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP University and University of Law, Birmingham, respectively; Conor Hay who is studying law at Kings College, and Max Blakeney who did a work shadow to explore his interest in the legal profession.

The firm’s Private Client & Trusts practice welcomed two students: Paige Thompson who is completing a Legal Practice Course (LPC) at BPP University and Milaun Perott who is completing a Graduate Diploma in Law (GDL) at University of Law.

Additionally, the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice welcomed Anthony Howell who is completing his Legal Practice Course (LPC) at University of Law, Leeds, and the Marketing department welcomed Karleigh George who is completing her Bachelor of Commerce at Dalhousie University.

Khayl’La Ball and Anthony Howell are 2020 Appleby legal scholarship or bursary recipients. Milaun Perott is one of our 2021 legal scholarship recipients.
