Leading offshore law firm Appleby has announced the addition of two team members and a senior promotion in its Hong Kong Corporate team.
Appleby is delighted to welcome Melissa Chiu who has joined the Finance team as Counsel. Melissa brings additional breadth and expertise to our structured finance practice in addition to bringing a wealth of offshore experience working in the finance field, including banking finance, debt capital markets and fund financing, which will further strengthen the firm’s Finance practice, led by Fiona Chan. With Melissa’s arrival, our expanding structured finance team includes senior experts based in Cayman, Hong Kong and throughout our global network advising on the full range of structured finance products including securitisations, repacks, structured note programmes and other over the counter products.
The Hong Kong office also welcomes David Bulley who has been based in Appleby’s Cayman office for the last four and a half years. David is a Partner and will add significant expertise to the private equity, M&A and restructuring practices in Asia following his transfer to the Hong Kong team on 1 June.
In addition, Charlotte Yeung has been promoted to the position of Counsel. Charlotte is a Funds lawyer with experience in the formation, structuring and maintenance of investment funds including hedge funds, private equity and real estate funds. Charlotte also has experience advising institutional investors on their investments in various open and closed ended funds.
