Vaishali Damonaiko is an associate in the Corporate and Dispute Resolution Team of Appleby’s Mauritius office.
Vaishali joined Appleby in November 2019 as a pupil in the Corporate department. She later joined as an Associate after having been called to the Mauritian Bar in January 2021. She assists in various matters including but not limited to: employment law, data protection, compliance and anti-money laundering policies, licensing and regulatory advices.

Work Highlights
- Advised and assisted in a structured finance deal of USD450 million 6.25 % senior secured notes due 2025 issued by Mauritius-based Cliffton Limited and listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited. These will be used principally to subscribe to Indian Rupee non-convertible debentures that would be issued by Delhi International Airport Limited, the first airport in India to be awarded the Leadership Energy and Environment Design ‘Gold’ rating.
- Assisted in a bonds issue transaction where Appleby advised IRB Infrastructure Developers Limited, an Indian highway construction company in a structured finance deal of USD 300 million 5.5 % senior secured notes due 2024 issued by Mauritius-based India Toll Roads and listed on the Singapore Exchange Securities Trading Limited.
- Advising Bank of Communications Financial Leasing Co. Ltd. and its wholly owned subsidiaries (acting as buyers) in the sales and leasing of various shipping vessels.

Vaishali did her Bar Professional Training Course at the University of the West of England. She was called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple in July 2019.
