Appleby Bermuda advised Brookfield Reinsurance in connection with its $1.1 Billion Acquisition of Argo Group
Brookfield Reinsurance Ltd., a leading capital solutions business providing insurance and reinsurance services to individuals and institutions, has completed its acquisition of Argo Group International Holdings, Ltd. (Argo) in an all-cash transaction valued at approximately $1.1 billion. Under the terms of the transaction, Brookfield Reinsurance acquired all issued and outstanding common shares of Argo.
Argo’s leading U.S. specialty platform adds a foundational piece to Brookfield Reinsurance’s expanding U.S. P&C operations and increases Brookfield Reinsurance’s assets to over $50 billion.
The acquisition team was led by Partner Matthew Ebbs-Brewer with assistance from Brookfield relationship Partner Clive Langley and Associate Arielle DeSilva. Insurance regulatory components were handled by Partner Gary Harris with assistance from Associate Ryann Hollis.
