David Pytches is Counsel and leads Appleby’s Private Client & Trust team in the Isle of Man.
David joined Appleby in October 2015. He advises institutional and private clients on all aspects of Isle of Man, BVI and Cayman Islands trust law, including the formation, restructuring and administration of trust and foundation structures, the powers and duties of trustees, the rights of beneficiaries, and the functions of protectors and enforcers. He works closely with Appleby’s dispute resolution team advising on trust disputes and has particular experience of working with clients in the Middle East, Africa and Asia.
David qualified as an English Solicitor in 1999 and practiced for five years in the tax and trusts department of Stevens & Bolton LLP. In 2005, he relocated to the Cayman Islands where he was admitted as an Attorney-at-law, working initially in the trusts team at Walkers, and then joining Conyers Dill & Pearman in 2010 to lead the firm’s Cayman private client practice. In 2014, David moved to Jersey to take up an in-house role as counsel to Standard Bank’s offshore fiduciary teams. He was admitted as a BVI Solicitor in 2017.
