Appleby Bermuda advised Brookfield Business Partners on its Corporate Simplification
Appleby Bermuda advised Brookfield Business Partners on all Bermuda law aspects of its corporate simplification, effected by way of converting Brookfield Business Partners LP (“BBU”), a Bermuda exempted limited partnership trading on the TSX and NYSE, and Brookfield Business Corporation (“BBUC”), a Canadian corporation trading on the TSX and NYSE, into one publicly traded Canadian corporation (“BBU Inc.”).
Brookfield Business Partners is the flagship listed vehicle of Brookfield Asset Management’s Private Equity Group, with total assets upward of US$75 billion.
The team was led by Brookfield relationship Partner Clive Langley and Counsel Arielle DeSilva, who advised on the corporate elements of the transaction. Dispute Resolution components were handled by Counsel James Batten.
