Faye’s departure from the firm follows over 20 years of service, six as Managing Partner. Since joining the firm in 1995, Faye has been involved in a number of significant high-profile deals and key milestones and has worked with a wide-range of local and international companies and individuals. Faye is a renowned corporate lawyer and has been recognised in The Legal 500 directory’s ‘Hall of Fame’ for many years and as an Eminent Practitioner in Chambers and Partners. Under her leadership the firm has grown both its corporate and dispute resolution teams to retain its market leading position. She has led the firm through a period of change and spearheaded flexible working and key recruitment and retention initiatives to ensure the firm remains an employer of choice.

Mark Holligon joined Appleby as a partner in 2012 and has been Practice Group Head of Appleby’s Isle of Man Dispute Resolution team since 2018. Mark has been repeatedly recognised for over a decade by The Legal 500 and Chambers directories as a leading dispute resolution lawyer. He began his career in England, qualifying in the City of London in 1995 and gaining experience with two further leading UK firms before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2003 and then to the Isle of Man in 2008.

Commenting on the upcoming changes, Faye Moffett, said:

“My time with Appleby has been thoroughly rewarding and has provided me with the opportunity to work alongside some great colleagues and clients over the years. I feel now is the right time to hand over the responsibility of Managing Partner to Mark. Appleby remains the leading law firm in the Isle of Man and it has a bright future. I know the firm and our valued clients will be in great hands with Mark and I wish both him and the team at Appleby every success.”

Mark Holligon, added:

“It’s been a pleasure to work with Faye since 2012. Her professionalism and integrity have made her a widely popular leader and a very talented lawyer. I’d like to publicly thank her on behalf of the firm for her dedication over the years and to wish her all the best for the future. I am looking forward to leading our fantastic team of lawyers and business support function as we continue to provide our clients with first-class service, guidance and advice.”

From 1 April, Appleby Isle of Man Partner, Kyle Sutherland, will also formally take on the role as Corporate Local Practice Group Head. Kyle is qualified to advise on both the laws of the BVI and Isle of Man, and specialises in a broad range of finance, corporate and commercial disciplines. Kyle qualified as an Isle of Man advocate in 2003 with Dickinson, Cruickshank & Co., before leaving the Island and spending a number of years working as a solicitor in the United Kingdom. Prior to re-joining the firm in 2010, Kyle also spent several years working for the largest law firm in the British Virgin Islands.
