James’s practice extends to all aspects of local and international employment advice. He advises on contentious and non-contentious employment issues for a wide range of clients including international companies and financial institutions. He has worked on Employment Tribunal claims relating to unfair dismissal, sex discrimination and disability discrimination. James qualified as an English solicitor in 2019.

James said, “I am thrilled to have joined Appleby at such an exciting time for the business and the Channel Islands legal market. I’m looking forward to developing my practice and working with the firm’s world-class team of lawyers”.

Appleby Guernsey Partner and Head of Employment, Richard Sheldon, welcomed James to the team, highlighting the wealth of experience he has so early in his career. “We are delighted to welcome James to the firm. The recruitment of James represents a real coup for the team. James has already worked across a broad range of cases which makes his experience well suited to our practice. He will be advising clients on the full range of employment issues across Guernsey and Jersey, including in particular discrimination and equality matters.”
