Appleby is a Platinum sponsor of the fourth annual Bermuda Tech Summit on 26–28 October 2022 at Hamilton Princess & Beach Club.

The conference is presented by the BDA (Bermuda Business Development Agency) in partnership with the Bermuda Government’s Economic Development Department and NEXT Bermuda.

Jerome Wilson, partner and head of Appleby’s Technology and Innovation practice in Bermuda, is also a speaker. He will moderate a 26 October panel titled ‘The Future of Money’ to discuss the future of the finance sector. The panel will focus in particular on banking institutions which are leaning into the digital asset market and pioneering new services to move the ecosystem forward.

Jerome said: “We are pleased to continue supporting the Bermuda Tech Summit, especially at a time when Bermuda’s position as a leading global hub for blockchain and fintech is solidifying. This is in large part due to the island’s robust yet flexible regulation under DABA (Digital Assets Business Act), which supports the development, testing and launching of products, and to Bermuda’s business ecosystem as a whole. I look forward to participating in the panel discussion and attending with the rest of the Appleby Technology team to share our views with delegates, and to support the innovators who are currently working in, or looking to enter, this dynamic space.”

Appleby’s Bermuda team is leading the way with advising on the most DABA licence applications to date on the island, and has the largest and most proficient team advising on the laws and regulations critical to innovative and technologically-driven clients.
