Now in its 10th year, ILS Convergence brings together key investors and industry participants in the alternative reinsurance, convergence and insurance-linked securities (ILS) marketplace for networking and educational sessions.

Bermuda is the leading global domicile for ILS, providing capital and risk solutions to protect the world’s population from catastrophic events, climate change, and other environmental and social threats.

Brad Adderley, Bermuda Managing Partner and Global Sector Leader for Insurance & Reinsurance at Appleby, said: “As a sponsor of ILS Convergence since its inception, Appleby is thrilled to once again support this important event. Its unique format allows for delegates to share ideas, and open doors to potential and innovative ILS solutions, particularly for climate-related and other catastrophic risks.”

Brad is a founding member of ILS Bermuda, the professional organising body behind ILS Convergence, and a long-standing member of the ILS Bermuda Steering Committee. He has extensive experience in the insurance and reinsurance market, specialising in ILS and alternative collateralised reinsurance investment vehicles. He has advised clients on numerous and wide-ranging transactions including catastrophe bonds, special purpose insurers, sidecars, life insurance securitisations and other fully collateralised structures. He is ranked in Band 1 for Insurance by Chambers Global 2022 and as a Leading Individual for Insurance/Reinsurance by The Legal 500 2022. Brad has been recognised for his significant contributions by Bermuda Risk Transfer Hall of Fame, published in Bermuda:Re+ILS magazine. He also led the Bermuda team awarded ‘Most Innovative Use of an ART Structure’ at the UK Captive Awards in 2015.

Appleby’s top-tier Insurance & Reinsurance team – the leader in advising on the most ILS transactions in Bermuda – will attend this year’s ILS Convergence. They provide advice on the establishment, regulatory compliance and business operations of (re)insurance companies, as well as advising (re)insurance managers and brokers based in international jurisdictions.
