The Red Box Project Jersey is a community-based, not-for-profit initiative, which aims to support young people throughout their periods by providing Red Boxes filled with free period products to local schools. They are currently supporting 28 schools on island, both primary and secondary schools. They are also in two youth clubs and a few other settings where support has been requested.
Three years ago, Appleby’s Jersey office set up a Female Leaders Network, with the aim of engaging and developing a group of female leaders, who have the power to support the development of women in their workplace. The network is part of Appleby’s commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace and local community and ensuring that diversity remains on the agenda for our business. When the network learned of the Red Box project’s fundraising ambitions, they decided to help.
The team who lead the network hosted a Valentine’s raffle for Jersey colleagues, who purchased tickets online. The winning colleague received a chocolate chiffon cake baked by Amy Benest, cocktails mixed by Lynne Capie and flowers courtesy of Gemma Whale as a Valentines weekend treat. The raffle, plus colleague donations, raised £1035 for the Red Box project.
