Liquidity Summit, presented by Hub Culture, is taking place 15 October. The summit will focus on leading and emerging trends across the world of finance. This one day conference consists of events and workshops devoted to the emerging people, trends and companies in this rapidly evolving space.

Partner Matthew Ebbs-Brewer will be participating in the panel entitled ‘Exotics and their Legal Framework’. This panel will explore Blockchain, digital asset and decentralised technologies opening up new legal paradigms for how we organise and distribute value, ownership and trust.

Matthew Ebbs-Brewer is a partner in the Corporate department of Appleby’s Bermuda office and leads the funds and investment services team in Bermuda. He is also a member of Appleby’s global Technology & Innovation group, providing comprehensive advice in connection with all aspects of initial coin offerings and the carrying on of digital asset business. Matthew has advised corporations, funds and high-net-worth individuals on a range of both contentious and non-contentious matters with notable experience in cross-border mergers and acquisitions, as well as the establishment and development of multinational group structures, joint ventures and both standalone and master/feeder fund structures (including those investing in insurance-linked securities).

Partner Steven Rees Davies will be participating in the panel entitled ‘Advancing Bermuda’s Infrastructure’. This panel will discuss how Bermuda is driving plans to develop a subsea telecommunications corridor to support industry best practices and advance its own infrastructure.

Steven Rees Davies is a partner within the Corporate department and Joint Global Head of Technology & Innovation, specializing in Fintech and the Digital Asset Business Sector. He practises in the areas of corporate finance, capital markets, regulation and intellectual property, and has represented clients in a wide variety of cross jurisdictional corporate transactions and restructurings as well as private and public offerings, placements and introductions to the Bermuda, London and New York stock exchanges.  He is also frequently involved in multinational joint ventures and private equity projects. His regulatory experience covers telecommunications, technology, pharmaceutical, energy, inter-governmental and software industry sectors as well as corporate governance and constitutional advisory work.
