Appleby Advises Keyrock on Acquisition of BlockFills Trading and Brokerage Assets

Appleby has advised Keyrock, a global crypto investment group on its acquisition of assets of BlockFills’ institutional digital asset trading and brokerage business, marking a major milestone in Keyrock’s global expansion.


Drawing on its extensive experience and expertise in complex cross-border acquisitions in the regulated space, Appleby’s multi-disciplinary team, led by Head of Regulatory Martin Byers and Managing Partner Simon Raftopoulos, with support from Counsel, Miriam Smyth, Senior Associate, Andrew Barr and Associate, Jared Awe, advised on all Cayman Islands aspects of this transaction, which expands Keyrock’s regulatory footprint with the acquisition of a CIMA-registered entity in the Cayman Islands, and the proposed acquisition of an FCA-authorised entity in the United Kingdom (subject to regulatory approval), and adds client-facing trading technology and operational systems to Keyrock’s existing capital markets business.
