Bio

Joe is a Senior Associate in the Dispute Resolution Practice Group in the Cayman Islands.

He has extensive international litigation and arbitration experience, particularly in high-value cross-border claims and in judgment and arbitral enforcement.  He has frequently acted for global corporations and high net worth individuals in complex contractual, shareholder and insolvency-related disputes.

Joe joined Appleby in May 2026 from Covington & Burling in London where he was an associate, prior to which he was an associate at Stephenson Harwood in London.

 

Work Highlights
  • Acted for a Ukrainian Energy company in the enforcement of a Dutch arbitral award against The Russian Federation.*
  • Acted for a company in a manufacturing dispute involving proprietary rights, equitable liens, set-off and security interests upon insolvency.*
  • Acted for a major pharmaceutical company on a complex multi-jurisdictional dispute involving parallel civil and criminal proceedings to identify counterfeiters and distribution networks, and to seek injunctive relief.*
  • Acted for a Seychelles company in parallel Court and LCIA arbitration proceedings against two subsidiaries of a global investment group and its investment manager, and subsequent enforcement and insolvency actions. *
  • Acted for a claimant in claim concerning ownership and tracing of crypto currency and digital assets.*
  • Acted on various urgent injunctions, relating to disclosure, recovery and preservation of goods and search orders. *
  • Acted for two major technology companies (separate cases) defending complex and high value class actions for alleged breach of competition law.*
