Bio

Christopher Reed heads Appleby’s Middle East practice, leading the firm’s newly established office in Abu Dhabi Global Market, a leading hub for international finance. After a decade in Jersey, he relocated to Abu Dhabi in 2025 to launch and grow Appleby’s regional presence, focusing on strategic relationships with GCC-based clients and intermediaries.

Christopher is a seasoned corporate and funds lawyer with expertise in mergers & acquisitions, joint ventures, group structuring and restructuring, fund establishment, family office arrangements, and corporate governance. His practice covers high-value, cross-border transactions and complex structuring mandates, often at the intersection of private capital, institutional investment and family wealth.

With a career spanning major financial centres and emerging markets, Christopher has advised sovereign wealth funds, global corporations, private equity and venture capital investors, as well as family offices and ultra-high-net-worth individuals. His experience extends across M&A, private equity and real estate transactions in multiple jurisdictions, as well as both regulated and unregulated fund formations. Clients value his pragmatic, commercially focused advice and collaborative approach to solving complex legal and business challenges.

Before moving offshore in 2015, Christopher spent nearly a decade in private practice with US and UK law firms in London and Moscow. He went on to develop his offshore expertise in the Investment Funds & Corporate departments of two leading firms before joining Appleby in 2025.
