Zim Ceko is an associate within the Corporate department in Jersey. He specialises in all areas of offshore banking, finance, funds and corporate law.
Zim is also a member of Appleby´s capital markets/listing services division in the Channel Islands and he regularly advises on the listing of Eurobonds, high yield bonds, REITs and other specialist securities on The International Stock Exchange.
Prior to joining Appleby, Zim worked in the banking and finance department of a Jersey-based offshore firm and prior to that spent over two years as an associate in the international capital markets team at Allen & Overy LLP (London) where he specialised in securitisations.
Zim started his career at Norton Rose Fulbright (Cape Town and Johannesburg) where he trained and qualified as an attorney in 2012 and where he specialised in debt capital markets.
Prior to moving to London and Jersey, Zim worked as a senior associate in the banking and finance team of Africa’s largest law firm, ENSafrica, Johannesburg where he specialised in debt capital markets and securitisations.
Zim has an interdisciplinary academic background having completed degrees in law and international relations. He was part of two postgraduate study abroad/exchange programmes at the University of Indianapolis (August 2005 to December 2005) and the University of Amsterdam (August 2006 to January 2007) and has degrees from the University of London, the University of Cape Town and the University of Stellenbosch.
