Bio

Indra is an Associate within the Corporate department in Mauritius. She read law at the University of Bradford, U.K. and thereafter completed the Legal Practice Course  (LPC) at BPP Law School in Leeds, U.K. Indra pursued an LLM in Professional Legal Practice with a particular focus on corporate and commercial law at BPP Law School, London, U.K. She has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate in International Business Practice at St. Mary’s University, London, U.K. and a Diploma in Legal Secretaries and PAs at the Institute of Legal Secretaries and PAs, U.K. Indra undertook the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at The University of Law in Leeds, U.K.

She was called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Honourable Society of Lincoln’s Inn in 2018 and was admitted as a Barrister in Mauritius in 2019.

Prior to joining Appleby in 2014, Indra worked for several law firms both in the U.K. and U.S.A. She gathered significant corporate and commercial experience when she worked for a law firm in New York City prior to joining Appleby where she now assists and advises mainly on corporate and commercial matters.

Indra has worked on several transactions for financial institutions, mergers and acquisitions and structuring and restructuring. She also regularly drafts legal opinions on corporate transactions, deed of transfer, non-disclosure agreements, share transfers and other corporate agreements. In addition, Indra has assisted on change of control and various jurisdictional surveys and performed independent analysis of due diligence documents to spot issues. Indra is fluent in English and French.
