The latest edition of Chambers Global ranks Andrew Willins, the Head of Appleby’s Dispute Resolution team in the BVI in Band 1. This research is consistent with the findings of the Legal 500 in their recently published rankings, which placed Andrew as one of three ‘leading individuals’. In both directories, Appleby BVI maintained its ranking in Corporate & Finance, as well as in Dispute Resolution.
The report notes that Andrew Willins is a respected figure in the BVI dispute resolution landscape. Described as a ‘dynamic advocate’, the directory notes that he is widely regarded as ‘one of the best advocates in the BVI: pragmatic, creative, clever and user-friendly’. He has extensive commercial litigation experience, particularly in the insolvency field.
“It is an honour to be ranked at the highest level by Chambers,” said Mr. Willins. “I am also delighted to note that the Dispute Resolution team in BVI is highly regarded by our clients and peers, having been described as extremely responsive and very strong on technical points of BVI Law. I was particularly pleased to see the recognition of the quality of our team, so soon after the Legal 500 individually ranked Olwyn Barry.”
The team was described as ‘one of my go-to teams’ by one source, and noted by peers as a firm that ‘consistently acts on high-level instructions’. Andrew Willins leads a team of four in the BVI office, known for their ‘accomplished practice with notable experience in a wide range of high-value arbitration and litigation matters, including shareholder disputes, trusts litigation and asset tracing matters’.
Chambers and Partners has been ranking the best lawyers since 1990, and now cover 185 jurisdictions.
