M is for Manx Cat! is an informative and interactive picture book all about the Isle of Man, written by Gemma Hjerth and illustrated by Kim Gee. The book gives readers the opportunity to practice the alphabet and spot iconic Isle of Man attractions. It has been supported by the Isle of Man Arts Council and Year of Our Island.
Caren Pegg, Dispute Resolution Partner at Appleby and member of the ACF commented: “Books are so important for children’s learning and development. When we were approached to provide support, the decision to donate these books to the Children’s Ward was an easy one. We hope the children get a lot of enjoyment from them.”
The ACF donates over £12,000 to charitable causes on the Isle of Man each year. As well as dealing with external requests for funding, it is also used to support employees in raising funds for their chosen charities.
Author and Publisher Gemma Hjerth, adds: “We are so grateful that the Appleby Charitable Foundation was able to purchase and donate copies of the book to the Children’s Ward at Noble’s Hospital. It’s great to see the book reach so many children on the island.”
