Sherice Arman is a partner and member of the Corporate and Commercial department. She joined Appleby in 2004 and was made a partner in 2008. Her practice areas include banking and asset finance, corporate finance, financial services regulation and capital markets. She specialises in ship and aircraft financing, mergers and acquisitions and corporate restructuring. Sherice is the firm’s leading expert on licensing and regulatory issues relating to regulated financial institutions in the Cayman Islands including banks, insurance companies, fund administrators and trust companies.

PLC Which Lawyer? listed Sherice as a recognised lawyer for Corporate/M&A (2011) and notes that she is “active in a broad array of corporate and commercial advisory work”.   • For BV Investment Partners, the $2.6 billion private equity firm, in their acquisition of fund administrator, Butterfield Fulcrum from UK buy-out firm 3i and other backers
  • As Cayman Islands counsel to Youku.com Inc. on its IPO on NYSE. Youku.com Inc. is the biggest online video company in China and is China's leading Internet television company, attracting approximately 203 million monthly unique visitors from homes and offices and 61 million monthly unique visitors from Internet cafes. It has a 40% share of total user time spent viewing online videos among Chinese internet users. Youku.com was launched in December 2006 and Youku shares had the largest gain for a U.S. IPO in five years
  • As Cayman Islands counsel to Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores SA, Colombia’s biggest financial holding company, on its acquisition of BAC-Credomatic GECF Inc. from U.S. giant conglomerate General Electric Co for $1.9 billion
  • As Cayman Islands counsel to JPMorgan Chase Bank, N.A., as a lead arranger and administrative agent in connection with a new $5 billion senior secured revolving credit facility for Anadarko Petroleum Corporation
  • For the Fulcrum Group in the Cayman Islands, in the merger of Butterfield Fund Services (Cayman) Limited and the Fulcrum Group. The combined group, known as the Butterfield Fulcrum Group, now ranks amongst the top ten independent, alternative asset fund administrators globally
  • For Essar Energy in the initial public offering of shares on the London Stock Exchange. This was the largest international listing in London since 2007 and the biggest-ever overseas share offer by an Indian company, which catapaulted Essar Energy into the prestigious FTSE 100 index of top blue-chip companies
  • On an ongoing basis for Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. and its subsidiaries, Nico Middle East Ltd. and BUE Marine Limited in the acquisition, financing and registration of their many vessels. Topaz Energy and Marine Ltd. is one of the leading marine and oil and gas fabrication companies in the Middle East
  • For Enbridge Inc. in the sale to Ecopetrol of all of its shares in Oledoducto Central S.A. (Ocensa) which owns and operates the most important oil transport system in Colombia. The Ocensa pipeline starts onshore at the Cusiana and Cupiagua fields, has a capacity to transport up to 650 thousand barrels of oil per day, a length of 829 kilometers, five pumping stations and an export port in Covenas (which is on the Colombian Caribbean Coast)
