Scott Swainson is a partner and the Property Bermuda practice group Head. He deals with both residential and commercial property transactions and regularly advises both local and non-Bermudian clients in respect of such transactions. He also provides property-related advice to banks and other lenders, as well as to hotels and condominium developers.

He joined Appleby in 1998. Prior to that he practised a combination of conveyancing and litigation law at another Bermuda-based law firm for his two-year pupillage and as an associate from 1994 until 1998.

Scott was educated in Bermuda, Canada and England. He graduated from Queen’s University, Ontario, Canada with a history degree and studied law at University of Kent at Canterbury in England.

He is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association. He was listed in the 2009 PLC Which Lawyer? Individual rankings as a ‘Leading Lawyer’ in Real Estate and has spoken at seminars hosted by the firm for banks, real estate agents and programmes designed for senior citizens.
