Richard Prosser is a director of Appleby Trust (Jersey) Limited and a partner of the Appleby Group. Richard qualified as a chartered accountant in 1989. He was a partner of Reads & Co., Chartered Accountants between 1992 and 1996. From 1992 to 2000, he was a director of EFG Reads Trust Company Limited and EFG Reads Investment Management Services Limited. Since June 2000 Richard has been a director of Appleby Trust (Jersey) Limited and a partner of the Appleby Group. He is also a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales, a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and a member of the Institute of Directors.
He has been involved in the trust industry in Jersey for over twenty-five years and has extensive experience in dealing with offshore structures for high net worth families based throughout the world. He travels extensively to meet with settlors and beneficiaries.
Richard was indentified as a 'Leading Trustee' on the Citywealth 'Leaders List' in 2011. He was again recognised in the 2012 Citywealth 'Leaders List'. This annual list aims to highlight the best of those individuals working in the wealth management sector.
He is on the board of a number of companies quoted in London and elsewhere, including property companies, hedge funds and investment management companies.
He is a Chairman of Threadneedle Investments (C.I.) Limited, Manager of the Threadneedle Property Unit Trust and Director of Threadneedle European Property Fund. He has most recently been appointed as a Chairman of Aberdeen Latin American Income Fund, quoted in London, and Damille Investments Limited, a closed ended investment company listed on the Specialist Fund Market of the London Stock Exchange.
