Norman Klein is a partner and Property local practice group head. His practice includes property development, commercial acquisitions and dispositions, financing transactions, commercial and retail leasing. He has particular expertise in the areas of hotel, condominium and commercial development, financing and restructuring for local and international clientele.
Notably, Norman has acted on behalf of the owner and developer of The Ritz-Carlton, Grand Cayman Resort from conception to completion. He continues to act on behalf of the owner and developer with respect to the ongoing development of the project as well as the sale of residences.
In the inaugural rankings by Legal 500 Caribbean (2012) for real estate, Norman was described as being “knowledgeable and accessible” and having “particular experience in the areas of hotel, condominium and commercial development”. He was endorsed for corporate real estate as a leading lawyer in ‘Practical Law Company Which Lawyer?’ (2010), and is an author and contributor to ‘PLC’s Cross-Border Handbook: Corporate Real Estate’. In 2010, he was invited to join the Editorial Board for the Handbook commencing with the 2011/2012 edition. Norman is a member of the Cayman Islands Law Society and the Law Society of Upper Canada.
Norman was called to the Ontario, Canada Bar in 1992 and practiced law in Toronto prior to becoming an Attorney-at-Law in the Cayman Islands in 1994. He joined the Group in 2001, after practicing for seven years with another Cayman Islands firm.
Norman is a notary public in the Cayman Islands.
