Helen Crossley joined Appleby as a group partner in March 2010, after practising for a number of years at another leading Channel Islands law firm. Prior to this, she worked at Eversheds in Leeds, specialising in mergers and acquisitions.

Helen advises on all areas of corporate and commercial law with particular expertise in banking and asset finance, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, listings on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange and the establishment and restructuring of closed-ended and open-ended funds in Guernsey.

  • Local and international banks on all types of banking and financing transactions involving Guernsey entities
  • On mergers and acquisitions of Guernsey companies, including regulated entities
  • On the establishment of listed and unlisted open-ended and closed-ended fund structures in Guernsey
  • In relation to all types of commercial agreements, including investment agreements, shareholder agreements and joint venture agreements
  • On migrations and amalgamations of regulated and unregulated Guernsey entities
  • In relation to the issue of bonds, notes and other debt instruments and the listing of those instruments on the Channel Islands Stock Exchange
  • On the establishment and change of control of Guernsey licensed insurance businesses and transfers of insurance business

Helen completed her Legal Practice Course at the College of Law, Chester, and prior to that graduated with an LLB with honours from the University of Lancaster.
