Faye Moffett is the Isle of Man Team Leader for the Banking & Asset Finance, and Islamic & Structured Finance teams. She qualified as an Isle of Man advocate in 1997 before leaving the Island in 2000 and spending several years working for leading law firms in Edinburgh. She returned to the Island in 2004 and joined the firm as an associate advocate, becoming a partner in February 2006.

She specialises in general banking and finance transactions, including property finance, aircraft and ship finance matters. She has particular experience in providing opinions on Isle of Man companies and on cross-border security and insolvency issues.  Her clients include Isle of Man companies, international financial institutions and international law firms.

Faye was named as a 'Leader in her Field' by Chambers UK 2012. She was also named as a ‘Leader in her Field’ by Chambers Europe 2011 and 2010. In Chambers 2009, clients considered Faye to offer 'very impressive and responsive banking opinions'. Shipping clients quoted in Legal 500, 2009 described Faye and her team as providing a 'first-rate practice'. She has also been endorsed in the field of corporate/M&A and banking and finance by PLC Which Lawyer? 2010.

  • For a bank in connection with loan facilities of US$3,000,000,000 to an Isle of Man company and advising on hedging arrangements
  • In relation to the insolvency and restructuring aspects of a group of companies in connection with a £140,000,000 loan facility involving complex cross-border insolvency issues
  • For AngloGold Ashanti Holdings plc in connection with a syndicated revolving loan facility agreement for an amount of up to US$1,000,000,000
  • For Hg Capital in connection with the banking aspects of the £160,000,000 acquisition of Manx Telecom Limited
  • For HSBC Bank plc and Bank of Ireland advising on the Isle of Man law aspects of the provision of US$91,500,000 senior debt to Permira Funds to part finance the acquisition of Creganna-Tactx, a transaction also involving Appleby’s Guernsey office
