Alison Dyer-Fagundo is a partner in the Corporate & Commercial department at Appleby. She qualified in 2000 and became a partner in 2009.

Alison has extensive experience of public and private company M&A activity, equity and debt markets, and the establishment of a number of Bermuda companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange, NASDAQ and AIM, as well as secondary listings of debt on the Bermuda Stock Exchange. She has particular expertise in advising on structuring and offering of public and private debt (both secured and unsecured).

Alison is a member of the Bermuda Bar Association and the chairman of the Firm’s Mentoring and Training Committee. She has been an elected member of the Bermuda Bar Council and appointed member of the Professional Conduct Committee of the Bermuda Bar Council since 2011.

In 2011 Alison earned a recommended listing for Corporate/M&A in the PLC Which Lawyer? Individual Recommendation League. In 2012 IFLR1000 named Alison as a 'Leading Lawyer' in the Financial and Corporate category. Alison received individual recognition from the 2012 Legal 500 as a Tier 1 Lawyer in Bermuda for Corporate and Commercial.

  • On various debt offerings by Global Crossing Limited and subsequent secured and unsecured debt offerings
  • In relation to the acquisition by a large Canadian bank and various private equity firms of a large equity stake in The Bank of N. T. Butterfield & Son Ltd. (a Bermudian bank)
  • Balfour Beatty in relation to their proposal for the redevelopment the King Edward Memorial Hospital in Bermuda (the first PPP in Bermuda)
  • In relation to the operations of and various debt offerings of a global Fortune 500 commercial product company and advising the company in relation to one of the first court-sanctioned schemes of arrangement, pursuant to which its top company redomiciled to Ireland
