Marie Nuth joined Appleby as a compliance manager in April 2005.
She is the Compliance Officer and the Money Laundering Compliance Officer responsible for compliance matters in Jersey. Her key responsibilities include managing the compliance function, providing advice to fee-earners on legislation, local regulatory requirements, corporate governance and areas of best practice. In addition, Marie drafts and updates policies, procedures and internal audit programmes, as well as designing and delivering training programmes, including anti-money-laundering seminars.
Prior to joining Appleby Marie was a senior compliance officer for six years with another international law firm with its head office in Jersey. Prior to that, as a former trust officer, Marie worked in a fiduciary services role in Jersey for six years, specialising in private client work.
Marie is a chartered secretary and an associate of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators and has certificates in compliance and anti-money laundering. She is also a member of the Jersey Compliance Officers Association.
