Adrian Alhassan joined Appleby as a compliance manager in 2008.
He is responsible for compliance matters in Bermuda. His key responsibilities include managing the compliance function, providing advice to fee-earners on legislation, local regulatory requirements, corporate governance and areas of best practice. In addition, Adrian drafts and updates policies, procedures and internal audit programmes, as well as designing and delivering training programmes, including anti-money-laundering seminars.
Prior to joining Appleby, Adrian was Compliance Manager for HSBC Global Asset Management in Bermuda (member of HSBC Group). In addition to experience gained at HSBC in their Asset Management and Capital Markets divisions, he has worked in the compliance industry for over ten years, including positions with the Bermuda Monetary Authority. Other relevant experience has been gained from previous positions held with American International Group (Reinsurance) and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
