Camilla Neal is an associate in the Corporate & Commercial department and a member of the Banking & Asset Finance team. She trained with Appleby and qualified as an Isle of Man advocate in 2006.

Camilla specialises in general banking and finance transactions, including property finance, aircraft and ship finance matters. She has particular experience in providing opinions on Isle of Man companies, on cross-border security and insolvency issues and in providing advice on all aspects of Isle of Man ship finance and flagging.

Her clients include Isle of Man companies, international financial institutions and international law firms.

Some recent examples of her representative work include advising:

  • HSBC Bank plc and Bank of Ireland on the Isle of Man law aspects of the provision of US$91.5 million senior debt to Permira Funds to part-finance the acquisition of Creganna-Tactx, a transaction also involving the Guernsey office
  • On the insolvency and restructuring aspects of a group of companies and unit trusts in connection with a £140 million loan facility,  involving complex cross-border insolvency issues
  • An international financial institution on the Isle of Man on aspects of its legal demerger, including the implications of such demerger on its existing security arrangements
  • A bank and providing ongoing Isle of Man assistance  in connection with loan facilities of £170,000,000 secured against a large portfolio of Isle of Man based UK property holding SPVs
  • The borrower as Isle of Man counsel in relation to the Isle of Man aspects of a group finance restructuring with a total commitment in excess of US$600 million
