Anjana Ramburuth is a senior associate and a member of the Corporate & Commercial and Corporate Finance departments.
She advises on a range of corporate, commercial and corporate finance transactions and her practice includes advising on banking and structured finance transactions, credit restructuring, derivatives transactions and securities offerings, public and private M&A, litigation and insolvency, public and private equity, company, fund and trust formation, and employment law matters.
Prior to joining Appleby in April 2007, Anjana was a practising barrister in general private practice with experience in all areas of Mauritian law, including civil, criminal, commercial, corporate, constitutional, matrimonial, employment, insurance and land law, including experience in judicial review cases, disciplinary proceedings and domestic and international commercial arbitration.
Anjana has previously worked on several transactions for banks and other financial institutions, borrowers and private equity clients, including Deutsche Bank AG, Credit Suisse, ICICI Bank Limited, Standard Bank Group, Citigroup, JP Morgan, Barclays Wealth International, Morgan Stanley, HSBC Group, Royal Bank of Scotland, UBS AG, BNP Paribas, Axis Bank Limited, Coöperatieve Centrale Raiffeisen-Boerenleenbank B.A, Standard Chartered Bank, Bevan Howard, Avago Technologies, VTB Capital, Commscope, Inc., Kerzner International Group, Heritage Oil Plc, the Emerging Africa Infrastructure Fund, BP Global and Mitsubishi, in connection with multi-million-dollar secured and unsecured transactions and/or other advisory or restructuring transactions.
Anjana served as the Chairperson of the Cooperative Development Advisory Board under the aegis of the Ministry of Industry, Small and Medium Enterprises, Commerce and Cooperatives of Mauritius for the period 2006 to 2008. She is a member of the Honourable Society of the Middle Temple and the Mauritius Bar Association.
She speaks fluent English and French.
