Richard McMillan is the Managing Director of Appleby Trust (Cayman) Ltd and Appleby Fund Services (Cayman) Ltd and is responsible for Appleby Insurance Services (Cayman) Ltd. He joined the organisation in February 2010 and has over twenty-five years of directorship, trust administration and company management experience. Previously he was Director of Trust Services and a board director at CIBC Bank and Trust Company (Cayman) Limited. He specialises in providing directorship, trust, corporate, management and fund administration services, securitisation and insurance management services for CAT bonds to banks, funds, companies, institutions, special-purpose vehicles, CLOs and high net worth individuals.
Richard's experience also extends to corporate governance, independent oversight, decision-making, developing new business, risk management, preparing financial budgets, revenue generation and all matters of management and administration. Before coming to the Cayman Islands, he worked with NatWest Financial and Investment Services in London.
As Managing Director Richard has responsibility for the directorship, fund administration, securitisation, insurance management, trust and corporate service lines of business.
Richard was recognised in the 2012 Citywealth 'Leaders List'. This annual list aims to highlight the best of those individuals working in the wealth management sector.
He is a member of the Cayman Islands Directors Association (CIDA) and a former Director of Cayman Finance, formerly known as the Cayman Financial Services Association.
