David Boyd is the Head of Fund Services at Appleby Fund Services (Cayman) Limited with responsibility for the fund administration and directorship businesses, including developing new business, strategic decision-making, corporate governance, independent oversight, revenue generation, risk management and preparing financial budgets.

He specialises in providing fund administration services, directorships to investment funds, special purpose vehicles and CLOs and has over twelve years of fund administration experience in the Cayman Islands.

Prior to joining the firm in 2011, David was the Head of Registrar and Transfer Agency (RTA) and Client Accounting at Maples Fund Services (Cayman) Ltd, where he was responsible for the provision of services to 169 funds and companies.

Previously, David also managed the operations of the Accounting, Valuations and Investor Services groups at Butterfield Fulcrum (Cayman) Limited, providing services to 136 funds with more than US$36 billion in assets under administration. In addition, he was responsible for the transition process following the merger of Butterfield Fund Services with Fulcrum Fund Services and assisted Butterfield in obtaining the SAS70 Type I and Type II certifications, both widely recognised auditing standards developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

David has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accountancy from Glasgow Caledonian University, UK. He is a qualified chartered accountant and has been a member of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland since 1992.
