Paul Branford is Counsel in the Corporate & Commercial department. He is an experienced lawyer practised in dealing with a broad range of corporate, commercial, financial services, insurance, trust and regulatory issues. Prior to joining Appleby, Paul gained extensive experience in the commercial department of Mann & Partners in the Isle of Man, where he worked for approximately nine years. Paul has also worked in-house in the offshore fund sector.

Paul advises on a diverse range of company, commercial and trust matters. Building on his general expertise, he specialises in all aspects of offshore financial services. This encompasses the formation of funds, and providing ongoing services to them, including restructuring, refinancing and termination. He also advises providers of banking, investment, insurance, corporate and trust services, including start-up ventures, on general compliance issues and new product launches.

Paul was named as a 'Leader in his Field' by Chambers UK 2012. He was also named as a ‘Leader in his Field’ by Chambers Europe 2011 and 2010

He is also a Chartered Secretary and a Member of the Securities and Investments Institute.
