Miriam Daugherty is Counsel in the Litigation & Insolvency department at Appleby in the Isle of Man. She joined the firm in January 1998 following qualification and has specialised in civil litigation since that time.

Miriam specialises in personal injury and clinical negligence, representing a large number of well-known insurance companies in a broad range of matters covering road-traffic accidents, employer and public liability cases. She has experience in handling complex and high-value litigation, including claims in respect of catastrophic head injuries, hand arm vibration syndrome, industrial deafness, stress and sexual abuse.

Miriam has worked on a wide range of cases involving the police, including those alleging wrongful arrest and malicious prosecution. Her experience also extends to dealing with inquests. Her civil litigation work has allowed her to gain extensive court experience. Additionally Miriam has experience in the enforcement of restrictive covenants in employment contracts.
