Appleby attends major property conference

1 March2017

Partners Kyle Sutherland and James Gaudin will be attending leading international property market conference MIPIM in Cannes, France this month.

Kyle Sutherland, Corporate Partner, will represent Appleby’s Isle of Man office alongside James Gaudin, Corporate Partner at Appleby’s Jersey office.

Kyle is qualified to advise on both the laws of the BVI and Isle of Man, and specialises in a broad range of corporate and commercial disciplines in those jurisdictions. James’ extensive experience covers banking and asset finance, real estate investment structures, public and private debt and equity issues, securitisations, repackagings and initial public offerings, as well as structures involving Jersey limited partnerships and unit trusts.

MIPIM, from 14 to 17 March, is one of the largest property conferences in the world and attracts influential international property market specialists representing a wide range of industry sectors including commercial, residential, retail, healthcare, sport and logistics. MIPIM will host more than 2,600 exhibiting companies, with more than 23,000 people from around the world expected to attend.

Kyle said: “MIPIM is an annual international gathering of key figures from the property industry, making it an excellent opportunity for us to meet existing and potential clients to discuss Appleby’s high quality legal services delivered across multiple jurisdictions. Most of our main referrers from onshore law firms and the fiduciary industry will be attending the event, so it is vital for us to be there to catch up with these people while at the same time try and establish some new contacts.”

James added: “There is a lot of interest around the event this year, particularly with Brexit on the table, so it is more important than ever to stay on top of the latest property trends, developing issues and upcoming opportunities to provide our clients with the best advice possible.”
