ALARYS Conference in Bermuda

Appleby Bermuda’s Eduardo Fox and Gavin Woods will be speaking at the ALARYS Congress taking place at Hamilton Princess, Bermuda, 25 to 27 September. Appleby is pleased to be a main sponsor of the biennial congress for risk professionals throughout Latin America.

Mr Fox, Corporate, Private Client & Trusts and Latin America Manager, will be moderating the 26 September panel: ‘Captives for Latin American Companies’, and Mr. Woods, Counsel at Appleby, will be a speaker on ‘What can Insurance-Linked Securities and Capital Markets do for you?’ on 27 September

Mr. Fox, focuses on business development in major Latin American economies and serves as the Official Advisor for Latin American Affairs to both the Government of Bermuda and the Bermuda Insurance Managers Association. Mr Fox added, “We are delighted that the conference will be held in Bermuda for the third time - the only non-LatAm host of the congress - which speaks to Bermuda’s reputation as a leading offshore jurisdiction for the LatAm global Captive market.”

Mr. Woods’ practice focuses on corporate finance, corporate structuring and insurance regulatory matters. He also has particular experience in the incorporation and licensing of (re)insurance companies, alternative risk financing vehicles (such as cat bonds and insurance-linked securities), listing on the Bermuda Stock Exchange, segregated account structures, securitisations and derivative transactions.

The ALARYS congress connects risk professionals and thought leaders from numerous countries throughout Latin America, with a full agenda of roundtables, panel discussions and education sessions covering hot topics such as cyber risk, healthcare, terrorism, regulatory trends, and alternative risk transfer products.
