New Partner appointments support Appleby’s global strategic direction

No other offshore firm provides the broad footprint that Appleby offers and these new appointments reflect our commitment to further developing our leadership role.”

Appleby’s new partners, appointed effective 1 April 2009, represent the firm’s strong global Corporate and Commercial and Litigation and Insolvency practice groups:

David Clark, located in the London office, has over 14 years of international experience and is a member of the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group and Banking and Asset Finance Team. He specialises in cross jurisdictional matters and advises on all areas of corporate and commercial law, including acquisition, project and film financing, structured finance and restructuring.

Alison Dyer-Fagundo, has nearly a decade of experience and is a member of the Corporate Finance and Telecommunications Technology and Intellectual Property teams in the Bermuda office. She practises within the area of company law, including advising on private and public offerings, merger and acquisition matters as well as advising on structuring and capitalisation of private telecommunications holding and operating companies.

Graeme Halkerston, located in the Cayman Islands office, has over eleven years of litigation and insolvency law experience. He advises on a wide range of commercial and banking law matters, including specifically cases involving international elements.

Simon Raftopoulos, has eight years corporate experience and is a member of the Banking and Asset Finance Team in the Cayman Islands. Simon specialises in advising on structured finance, acquisition finance, general banking and asset financing matters.

The lawyers promoted to the position of Counsel are noted below, most of whom joined Appleby within recent years and bring extensive experience to the Group.

Alastair Drummond, located in the Jersey office, has over 12 years corporate experience. Alastair’s practice focuses on property finance and banking law, including advising both local and international banks. He also has broad experience of acting on the acquisition, disposal and refinancing of Jersey-based property holding structures.

Myles Flint is a member of the Funds and Investment Services Team in the Bermuda office. Myles has over 15 years of corporate experience and primarily advises on investment funds, hedge funds and mutual funds.

Alisdair Lynch, located in the Bermuda office, has over a decade of corporate experience. Alisdair is in the Corporate and Commercial Practice Group and is a member of the Banking and Asset Finance Team, with experience of asset finance, private and public offerings of debt and equity.

Doug Molyneux, is a member of the Funds and Investment Services, Corporate Finance and the Telecommunications and Technology Teams in Bermuda. Doug has been practising corporate law for nearly twenty years, both in house and in private practice, including advising on a wide range of company and commercial issues.

Louise Richardson, practises in the Litigation and Insolvency Practice Group in the Jersey office. Louise has nearly a decade of experience and works primarily in the areas of trust litigation, personal injury, employment and insolvency.

In addition to the above internal promotions, Appleby announced the appointment of Jayson Wood who joined the firm as Counsel.

Jayson Wood, located in the Cayman office, is a member of the Litigation and Insolvency Practice Group and has over twenty years of commercial litigation and insolvency experience. Jayson advises on a wide range of disputes, including shareholder disputes, corporate fraud, director’s liability and receiverships/liquidations.
