Appleby’s Litigation & Insolvency group in Jersey is recognised as being one of the largest and leading practices in the Island. The Jersey team specialise in Commercial Dispute Resolution, and Trust and Estate Litigation.
Increasingly, we advise on regulatory matters, and are involved in trust litigation, including claims against trustees, claims to set aside trusts and claims to remove protectors allegedly abusing their fiduciary powers. We act for all the relevant parties including corporate trustees, and also for beneficiaries and settlors in appropriate circumstances.
Our Personal Law team in Jersey also has a highly regarded criminal law practice, including money-laundering, fraud, licensing issues and drug-related offences. Additionally, another very important area of service in Jersey is Legal Aid. Since such services are not supported by public funds, the legal system relies on locally qualified lawyers and advocates to represent those people who cannot afford a lawyer.
