Turtle farm, Cayman islands

The five breeder turtles that have been sponsored are Buckshot, Florence, Honey, Old Yellow and Submarine, who together are an impressive 2,274 pounds (1,031.5 kilos) and 175 years of age. The sponsorship will assist Boatswain Beach and the Cayman Turtle Farm in their efforts as a resource for marine conservation, research and education and raise awareness of the plight of marine turtles. Appleby will also be directly involved in the promotion, protection and well-being of sea turtles and their habitat.
