Who we are

Cayman Hospice care

Appleby employees in the Cayman Islands office take a break from standard office attire once a week in favour of dressing down to benefit a local charity.

During 2010, the Appleby Cayman office had a more relaxed appearance on Fridays. Participants made a donation to the charity of the year, Cayman HospiceCare, and opted out of standard office attire.  The funds donated raised over US$16,000.

Cayman HospiceCare is a not-for-profit organisation committed to providing high quality, dignified comfort care, free of charge, to everyone in the Cayman Islands living with end-stage diseases. Cayman HospiceCare is also committed to assuring long-term emotional, spiritual and general well-being to survivors after loss.

Speaking about the donation, Appleby Cayman Office Managing Partner Huw Moses OBE remarked, “Cayman HospiceCare is a cause that is very dear to the firm because the organisation was started by the friends of a terminally ill Partner at Appleby, back in 1996. Further, Appleby deeply cares about the quality of life of our employees and the people in the Cayman Islands community. We are proud to provide this donation to the hospice which will enable the caregivers to better serve their patients.”
